Forget the Prohibition and the Wall Street Crash, it is 1929 and the BB gang want you all to come and have fun at their speakeasy in downtown Boxmoor.

Guys you'll need a sharp suit, a sleek tie, a fat cigar, and, of course, a gorgeous moll for your arm. Molls will want to get noticed, so squeeze into your slinky dresses, add a really classy necklace, and then drape a feather boa around your shoulders.

There will be fun prizes for the best costumes, followed by a Dance with a Gangster competition.

Guys, leave your weapons at home! Be there! The Boss will accept no excuses!

THE EARL JACKSON BAND

De Havilland Sports & Social Club, Hatfield

In response to overwhelming demand, we have invited The Earl Jackson Band back for another fantastic evening of rock and roll dance music.

We have chosen to hold this event at the De Havilland Sports & Social Club, a super venue, for two reasons. Firstly we hope that holding the event in a larger venue will mean we avoid the disappointment experienced by some last year when tickets sold out so quickly. Secondly, there is no sound limiter at the De Havilland club, so we will not have any unnecessary interruptions to the sound.

The Earl Jackson Band is very popular and we expect the tickets to sell very quickly, so to avoid disappointment, get your tickets early. The tickets are now on sale for £10 from the desk.

SWING DANCING

Following the success of the swing night last year we are still planning a six-week beginners swing class with Joseph &Trisha at the Boxmoor Playhouse. As soon as we get confirmation we will let you know the dates.

WARMWELL PARTY WEEKENDER

Once again we all enjoyed a fantastic weekend at Warmwell and returned home suffering from sleep deprivation and sore feet from dancing all day and all night. It was great to see so many club members at the Warmwell Boxmoor 'Blues' party on Sunday morning. Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a great success. If you want to book a chalet at the next Party Weekender in November, now is the time to do it.
