FREESTYLE BAND NIGHT

Friday 11th July - Band in Hand

Our next freestyle event takes place on Friday, 11th July at the Boxmoor Playhouse, when local band, Band-in-Hand, will be here to provide us with a fantastic evening of live music.

Tickets are on sale at the desk for only £6. Any left will be available on the door for £7, first come, first served.

The evening is a good opportunity to invite your non-dancing friends to enjoy the music and a drink at the club-price bar - and, who knows, pick up the dancing bug!

WELWYN DANCE FESTIVAL

Members of Boxmoor Beat will be taking part in the Welwyn Dance Festival at Campus West on Sunday 13th July. The 'Swingvillains' will perform a swing dance routine at matinee and evening performances, and would be really pleased to see some familiar faces in the audience. Ask Val or Robert for details.

BANK HOLIDAY BEACH PARTY

Monday 25th August is a Bank Holiday, but we'll definitely be open. We want you to put on your summer gear for our annual sun worshiping evening.

So make sure you have your snorkel and flippers, sunglasses and beach ball ready for this fun event.

SWING DANCE NIGHT

Our Friday Freestyle on 12th September is dedicated to Swing Music. Joseph and Tricia Sewell from Swingville will be along to run a fun lesson and the Swingvillans, fresh from glory in WGC, will perform their cabaret number. This event is for everyone, regardless of dance experience. There will be music for Jive and Swing dancing.

SAFETY TIPS

• Be aware of the other dancers around you and avoid collisions - keep it close on a crowded floor.

• Don't attempt drops or aerials unless you have the necessary experience and there is plenty of space.

• Don't be afraid to say no if you consider a move (or a dancer) to be unsafe!

WORKSHOPS

Would you like to attend a workshop to improve your technique or style, or to learn some new moves? We run our own beginners workshops from time to time and are happy to recommend workshops run by other groups. Ask for more information at the desk.
