| FREESTYLE BAND NIGHT Friday 6th June - Cookie and the Blue Jays Hurry, get your tickets for our next weekend freestyle evening taking place on Friday 6th June at the Boxmoor Playhouse. The well-known rhythm and blues dance band, Cookie & the Blue Jays, will be here to provide us with a fantastic evening of live music. Tickets will soon be on sale at the desk for only £6. If any are left they will be available on the door for £7, first come first served. Sorry, we can't reserve tickets without payment. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the music, including those people who don't dance. We want a good crowd 'dressed to impress' to make this an evening to remember. WORKSHOPS Would you like to attend a workshop to improve your technique or style, or to learn some new moves? The Boxmoor Beat team is happy to help source workshops for club members and put you in touch with the organizers. We can also introduce members that are interested in the same workshops. Ask for more information at the desk. MEMBERSHIP CARDS Remember to bring your Boxmoor Beat card with you to each Monday jive class. This speeds up the check-in on the door, and you may be lucky enough to win a 'Free Entry' voucher! Each week we have a prize draw. The winning number is announced at 10 o'clock. You must have your card to qualify. PARTY WEEKENDER APRIL 2003 It was great to see so many BB club members enjoying the recent dance weekend at Warmwell. The fantastic weather meant we could also enjoy leisurely outdoor breakfasts and walks at Lulworth Cove. Thanks to all those that came along to the Sunday Night party looks like it may become a permanent feature of future Party Weekenders!!! 10 SESSION ENTRY TICKETS Serious dancers can save money by purchasing a 10 session entry ticket for only £45. Work it out, you'll be getting one free evening of dancing! |
ALTERNATIVE VENUES Occasionally, due to theatrical productions taking place at the Boxmoor playhouse, we have to hold our weekly class at an alternative venue. In May and June there will be four classes held at the: APSLEY COMMUNITY CENTRE, London Road, Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, (opposite the Spotted Bull Pub). The first of which is on MONDAY 5th MAY. Check the diary below for the dates in June. If you need directions, please ask at the desk. DRINKS FOR ALTERNATIVE VENUES We will always have a selection of drinks on sale if a venue does not have a bar, however you are welcome to bring your own soft drinks. WE NEED YOUR HELP! We would like to find an easily accessible local venue, for occasional use, that has a good dance floor, a stage, room for everyone to dance, a licensed bar and plenty of car parking space. Let one of the crew know if you know of anywhere that fits the bill.
