Well… there was no sand or sea in sight but there were plenty of bronzed bodies and great summer sounds at our end of summer beach party. Thanks to everyone for stripping down to bikinis, sarongs and shorts, on what turned out to be a rather chilly evening, to ensure our theme evening was a success!

Modern Jive Workshops

Names are being taken for workshops that are taking place on the following dates:

Intermediate Workshop - Sunday 22nd September 2002 at Boxmoor Playhouse, Hemel Hempstead

Beginners Workshop - Sunday 6th October 2002 at Boxmoor Playhouse, Hemel Hempstead

Both workshops will take place in the Green Room from 1.30pm to 5.30pm and cost £20 per workshop.

Attending a 4 hour workshop gives you the opportunity to learn new moves, improve your technique, pick up style tips and is a great confidence booster. Workshops are also good fun and enable you to get to know other members. So if you haven't put your name down yet, now's the time to do it!

Party Weekenders

The dance weekend at Warmwell is now only a few weeks away. If you haven't booked and would like to go, let us know and we will let you know if any places come available.

New Website

Good news! You can now pick up information on classes, venues and workshops on our new website, 'www.boxmoorbeat.co.uk'.

It's hard to believe but Boxmoor Beat will soon be a year old! To celebrate our anniversary we are organizing a special dance night to be held on Monday 4th November at the Boxmoor Playhouse from which all proceeds will be donated to charity.
Following our request for nominations, proceeds from the evening will be divided between:

• Holidays for Local Disabled and
• Woodfield School for children with learning difficulties

So do put this date in your diaries now. Tell all your dancing friends that they are welcome to join us for a fun evening, and to support these two organizations that do such wonderful work.
